The Audioscopic Research Archive compiled by the Swedish painter and researcher Friedrich Jürgenson is on loan from the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. For the duration of Trans-Positionen it will be on display in the foyer of the German Federal Cultural Foundation in Halle (Saale). The archive is based on Jürgenson’s research on transcommunication and includes sound recordings of attempts to contact deceased persons. In 1959 Jürgenson discovered the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP), which allowed him to contact deceased persons by means of radio carrier waves. A documentary film featuring interviews with Jürgenson provides insights into communication with the beyond.

Trans-Positionen is being held in collaboration with Radio Revolten.
