Hartmut Geerken studied oriental languages, comparative religious studies and philosophy (Ernst Bloch) at the universities of Tübingen/Germany, Constantine/Algeria and Istanbul/Turkey. He worked for Goethe-Institutes in Cairo, Kabul and Athens (1966-1984). Geerken is active as author, composer, musician, film-maker, actor, mycologist, bumble-bee-keeper, publisher of authors from the circle of literary expressionism and dada etc.
