Radionics, Radio Art and Electronic Sound
Veranstaltung Navigation
Daniel Wilson, Sound and Music’s ‘Embedded’ composer-in-residence at Resonance 104.4FM, presents an overview of the fringe science of radionics in relation to sound, presenting microtonal ‘radiations’ along with exclusive radionic laboratory archive audio tapes originally intended for radio airing in the 1960s, but were never broadcast. Is it possible to achieve the ultimate ideal of radio art (and indeed music): to embody a thought, concept or feeling into sound? Can a sound ever become more than sound itself? With occult electronic paraphernalia, radionics directly addresses this question.
Daniel Wilson recently completed his Sound and Music ‘Embedded’ composer residency at London’s Resonance 104.4FM. His Radionics Radio album of experimental microtonal compositions is available on Sub Rosa records (SR423). He is a member of electroacoustic music quartet Oscillatorial Binnage and records solo as Meadow House. His 2015 Meadow House album Attempts & Results is on Beautiful Music CDs.
